In "Investing in friends: The role of geopolitical alignment in FDI flows" Shekhar Aiyar, Davide Malacrino, Andrea Presbitero show us that geopolitical distance also matters (measured with ideal points) in FDI investment decisions, even after controlling standard gravity equation
determinants.
